London, 20 January 2023 - The Payments Innovation Forum (PIF), the not-for-profit payments industry body, has announced the appointment of Siobhan Moore, a Partner at Keystone Law as PIF Chair, and Jason Field, a Vice President with the Fintech team at Mastercard, as PIF Vice Chair in accordance with the association’s rotating governance model.
Siobhan takes the baton from outgoing PIF Chair Chris Ellis, whose 3-month term has come to an end. Chris remains in his role as a non-executive Director of PIF.
Siobhan is a commercial lawyer who has worked in the payments sector for over 15 years, involved with many of the new entrants to the market, on their product growth and expansion into new sectors and countries.
Jason takes over the Vice Chair role from Siobhan. As a Vice President in the UK and Ireland Fintech team at Mastercard, Jason is responsible for the account management of fintechs and other partners.
Under the new model, the PIF Chair and Vice Chair rotate among PIF’s non-executive Directors every three months with the Vice Chair moving to the Chair role on rotation. Adopted in September 2022, the shared leadership approach allows PIF to tap into the knowledge, experience and expertise of the PIF Board in a way that better serves PIF’s diverse and growing community of members. It also enables PIF to fast-track key elements of its member-driven strategic plan.
Speaking about his tenure as PIF Chair, Chris Ellis said:
“It has been a pleasure to have held the role of Chair of the Payments Innovation Forum over the last few months. Our forum provides a valuable and impartial service to its participant members, to the sector as a whole as well as to the wider public, whose trust in the sector it is vital that we protect."
“During my tenure we have refined our existing initiatives and evolved new ones reflecting current priorities, which we believe will provide further value to all. These initiatives are, of course, driven by input from our members."
“I am very proud of the role that PIF plays in innovative payments, and I am delighted to be able to hand over to actors of the calibre of Siobhan and Jason to lead our organisation during the coming period, with Diane’s fantastic support.”
Commenting on the latest rotation, PIF Executive Director Diane Brocklebank said:
“It’s the commitment of Chris, Siobhan and Jason and all other members of the PIF Board who voluntarily give up their time that ensures PIF makes such a vital contribution to the payments and wider fintech sector. Our new approach to leadership uniquely allows us to pass on valuable learnings and experience to our members, in every aspect of our work. As we embark on a new phase of development and community building, we are thrilled to have Siobhan and Jason at the helm.”
